The GEAP-Heifer Research Project
We are currently collaborating with Heifer International (HI) to improve the education and delivery services of HI in North America. The GEAP research team, made up of students from all over the world, from a number of different departments across campus, conduct fieldwork in the livelihood systems in HI communities in Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.

The study aims to develop outreach efforts to improve the livelihood of small farmers and rural agricultural communities by presenting the findings in a training manual to be presented at workshop held by GEAP for all HI field coordinators in fall of 2005.

Hosting International Researchers
GEAP maintains international linkages with a number of academic institutions and development agencies to promote international learning opportunities for graduate students and faculty.

Consequently, we have had the opportunity to host international scholars and representatives from development agencies such as the World Bank, FAO, CIAT, and USAID looking to partner with UF/IFAS to creating a new kind of stewardship in regard to cutting-edge research on gender issues priorities and concerns in agricultural development and the environment.
